For Peace

Kateryna Henness wrote this piece combining some traditions of modern orthodox music with some early catholic chants. The stylistics of the work generally reflect some very influential streams of sacred music of the neighboring Ukrainian area. Some listeners might hear a bit of Igor Stravinsky, some would catch the echo of Arvo Part’s creations. Composer's intention was to write this prayer in a more traditional style, rather than trying to be radically inventive.
